I remember seeing a photo of the water getting sucked out of Tampa Bay by Hurricane Irma. The same happened here in the Lowcountry with then Hurricane, now Tropical Storm Florence. Check out this video posted by the Weather Channel of the Breach Inlet on Sullivan's Island. Normally no swimming because of dangerous currents ... who needs to swim when you can walk across the inlet right to the Isle of Palms!
