Dominion Energy: Power outage in James Island apartments, businesses

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) - Dominion Energy says a power outage in a section of James Island could last until sometime Monday afternoon.

They say the outage is affecting an area off of Riverland Drive and Highway 171. There are 619 reported outages in the area.

Apartment complexes Retreat at Riverland and Riverland Woods Apartments are located in this area. The Island Plaza shopping center is also located in the area. Some businesses in the shopping center include Food Lion, Dollar Tree, Tuesday Morning, Forsberg’s Wine & Spirits, GNC, and Gold’s Gym.

Officials say power should be restored to the area by 1 p.m.

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
