Mount Pleasant, SC (WSCC) - Officials have announced plans to allow a lane reversal on I-526 so that one lane on the eastbound bridge will travel westbound from Mount Pleasant into Daniel Island which will begin on Sunday afternoon with the intent for 2-way traffic to be fully operational for Monday morning traffic.
The SCDOT has been working on paving a temporary 526 crossover lanes near the Wando Bridge today. Teams are working diligently to relieve the heavy traffic we've seen across the lowcountry since the westbound side of the Wando Bridge was closed on Monday.
On Thursday, Gov. Henry McMaster ordered the DOT to plan and execute the partial reversal of the Wando Bridge.
