Who Has the Fastest Drive-Thru?

We're spending some extra time at the drive-thru these days.

According to the annual survey done by QSR Magazine, the average drive-thru visit is 21 seconds longer today than last year. From the moment you start your order to the moment you get your food, it takes an average of 4 minutes and 15 seconds, up from 3 minutes and 54 seconds last year. Time of day you visit does make a difference with the shortest wait at breakfast, when the average order takes 3 minutes and 59 seconds. The longest wait is in the late afternoon, when it's 4 minutes and 35 seconds.

Of the ten fast food chains they timed, Dunkin' Donuts had the shortest drive-thru time at 3 minutes and 37 seconds. Wendy's was the second fastest followed by Burger King. Chick-fil-A had the longest, 5 minutes and 23 seconds.
