Ladies, if you want to sleep better at night, consider changing who you share your bed with. A new study in the Journal of the International Society of Anthrozoology by professors at Canisius College in New York shows women who share their bed with their dog get a better night's sleep compared to women who sleep with a cat or another human.
Of the nearly 1,000 women in the study:
- 55% shared their bed with at least one dog
- 31% share their bed with a cat
- 57% share their bed with another human
Those women who shared their bed with a dog reported stronger feelings of comfort and security. And, the study found dogs don't disturb sleep as much as cats or human partners.
