35 Years Ago We Said Goodbye to Our Friends at the 4077

Who would have thought a TV show about the Korean War would last 11 seasons?    No one could have predicted it, but "M*A*S*H*" was on the air from 1972 - 1983.    The TV show adapted from the 1970 movie "MASH," which was based on Richard Hook's 1968 novel "MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors,"

It was on this date in 1983 we said goodbye to Hawkeye, BJ, Charles, Margaret, Col. Potter, Klinger and all of the people from the 4077 Mobile Army Surgical Hospital.    The 2 1/2 hour 256th episode was the 11th season and series finale    At that time, the population of the U.S. was 234 million - almost 106 million people watched the final episode, and it still ranks as the most watch TV show in history.
