Should This Ad Have Been Allowed in the Super Bowl Program?

This AMVETS ad "PleaseStand will not be a part of the official Super Bowl LII program.

The National Football League rejected the full page ad from the veterans organization.    The #PleaseStand is in reference is to the NFL players protest movement of kneeling during the National Anthem.   The director of AMVETS said they are "surprised and disappointed" by the rejection.    The NFL put out a statement saying that the official game programs aren't the place for political messaging.

AMVETS planned to use the ad to fundraise for its "Americanism" initiative.   That's a program which sends members to schools teaching flag etiquette.
