Today We Lost a True Music Icon

If you thought he was just a country singer, you didn't really know much about Glen Campbell.

He was an amazing guitarist, playing on the Beach Boys legendary "Pet Sounds" album.    Glen played on albums from the likes of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley.   He was an actor, hosted the "Glen Campbell GoodTime Hour," won 10 Grammy Awards and countless American Music, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Awards and was inducted in to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

I had the opportunity to see Glen perform, and with my wife Elaine, to meet him at a performance in Cilo, Michigan on August 14, 2001.    Not only was the performance amazing, but Glen was so kind and gracious when we got to spend some time with him backstage.    I've been blessed to meet many performers over the years, and this is something I will never, ever forget.

We're sad that you're gone, but thanks for all the great music you gave us, and for this amazing memory.   R.I.P. Glen Campbell ...
