#GoodNews: Utah Man with ALS Gets $21K After Steer Sale

Something amazing happened recently at a Southwest Junior Livestock Show at the Diamond Z Arena in Cedar City. At a typical auction, kids auction off their animals and the money raised generally goes toward college tuition or other expenses. However, something different happened at the September 7th auction.

Donna Christensen purchased the Iron County Grand Champ steer for $5,000 and then donated it back for auction. It sold again for 3,800 and was donated back. Then it sold for $4,200 and donated back. This happened 8 times until $21,000 was raised. The money was given to Chad Reid, who has contributed to the agriculture community for the last 22 years and has been battling (ALS).
