San Diego is currently among a dozen areas that are in the market for an MLS expansion team. Major League Soccer is the "major league" to the USL, the league in which our Charleston Battery is a member. In an effort to get southern California soccer fans excited about a new team, SoccerCity SD — the group behind the expansion effort — is asking for its Facebook followers to vote for a team name. That voting is in its final week, and the team name leading the vote, but a large margin, is Footy McFooty Face with nearly 7,700 votes, well ahead of San Diego Surf (2,341) and San Diego Bad Hombres (1,644)
