Daytime TV Wouldn't Have Been The Same Without Him

  • Along with being best known as the host of "The Gong Show," Chuck Barris created "The Dating Game" and "The Newlywed Game."   He was also a songwriter, who penned the hit "Palisades Park" for Freddy Cannon.   Plus, he authored "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," his autobiography, which became a film directed by George Clooney, in which he claimed to have worked for the CIA, and to have killed 33 people.    Chuck Barris died of natural causes at his home at age 87.
