2.) A “major discovery” will be announced today at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. No one knows for certain what the announcement is, but rumors have begun to fly. The Guardian reports speculation is the discovery has to do with finding of evidence of primordial gravitational waves, ripples in the fabric of space time that were produced in the early universe. The imprint they left when the universe was born 13.82 billion years ago would give us an idea what the universe was like when it just came into existence. A new study published in the Journal of Public Health shows that given the option, a growing number of people will opt for more nutritious fare. The research was done at an Iowa high school concession stand and when healthier foods were offered, including menu items featuring carrots, apples, grilled chicken, and string cheese, sales increased. The study suggests rather than removing less healthy options, make them using healthier ingredients and preparation methods and patrons will still get the foods they love and they can feel better about eating them.
