From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:
The seats are empty right now at Dunleavy's Pub on Sullivan's Island, but co-owner Jamie Maher says that will change in a big way tomorrow night. "It's a big deal. It's gonna be our 21st St. Patrick's Day party. We are going to have… an Irish acoustic singer, and we'll have Irish Step Dancers coming in tomorrow afternoon. We'll have shepard's pie, corned beef and cabbage dinner, obviously, and corned beef sandwich."
Maher says the street will be blocked off next to the pub, and they are taking several precautions for patron safety.
In addition to barricades, there will also pay for additional security in the form of county deputies who will be there to handle issues. "We ID of course, and make sure everybody's legal. Then my staff patrols and makes sure that everyone's behaving themselves. I'm moving around a well as my uncle, the other partner, making sure that everybody is behaving themselves and acting accordingly."
Tim Culp was at Dunleavy's Sunday for lunch. He was also there Saturday night, for the first part of their St. Patrick's Day celebration. "They had the whole block kind of blocked off. It was really cool. It seemed like a really good event."
Law enforcement will be fully enforcing DUI laws on Monday night, so if you plan on drinking, you should not be driving.
