Shortly before 10 PM Friday, North Charleston Police responded to a Walmart parking lot  at 9880 Dorchester Rd.

According to police, the victim stated that she was getting inside her vehicle when a male jumped in the passenger side with a gun. The suspect pointed the firearm at the female victim while ordering her to drive.

As the woman left Walmart the suspect ordered her to drive towards Ladson Rd. The suspect began searching the victim's purse, when he realized the victim had no cash he ordered her to drive to the South Carolina Federal Credit Union at the intersection of Dorchester and Ladson Rd. where he demanded she withdraw cash.

The suspect then had the victim drive back towards the Walmart then jumped out of the vehicle near the Chili's parking lot.  

Many shoppers said they were on edge Saturday as they continued their holiday shopping.

"I've never thought about the idea that somebody would come behind you and stick a gun to your back. That's just crazy," Janna Ross said.

Shirley Mays said she's shopped at Wal-Mart for the last 20 years. She mostly gets her shopping done late at night, around the time the woman was abducted and robbed.

"It really upsets me, and it's scary too because I come here by myself most of the time," May said.

Police were not able to locate the robbery suspect upon arrival and ask anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers (843)554-1111.  The suspect is described as 5'11", 250 lbs, thin beard with mustache.
