Police chase ends in crash, ends in shots fired

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -  Around 2 a.m. Thursday, a police chase began on I-26 at Ashley Phosphate Road.

The chase ended when the stolen vehicle crashed into several parked cars on Hwy 78 at University Blvd across from Wanamaker Park. Two of the three people inside the car ran behind some nearby buildings. One occupant was detained at the car. 

One of the suspects,  23 year old Peter Andrew Villa 3rd from the North Charleston/Ladson area was found a short time later, dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. 

 18 year old Nicholas David Lowe was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest

 20 year old Shaquille Davon Harris was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and possession of MDMA.

 SLED and the Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
